Youth-led action continues to shape global conversations on food systems and climate change. I’m pleased to share that Learn to Impact has been featured in the 2025 YOUNGO Food & Agriculture Youth Project Compilation, a curated collection of 25 impactful youth-led initiatives from over 20 countries worldwide.
The compilation, coordinated by the YOUNGO Food and Agriculture Working Group, is being submitted to the Sharm el-Sheikh Joint Work on Agriculture and Food Security (SSJWA) portal
under the UNFCCC. Its purpose is to showcase concrete youth action, inform policymakers and stakeholders, and open pathways for collaboration and support.
Learn to Impact, co-created by LCOY Nigeria, Scaling Up Nutrition Youth Network Nigeria, YPARDNigeria, GYBN Nigeria, and Sustainable Food Systems Youth Foundation is recognised as a national youth-led policy and advocacy initiative from Nigeria. The project is designed to integrate sustainable food systems and nutrition into the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
framework, particularly through the SAED and CDS platforms. At its core, the initiative focuses
on building youth capacity, promoting systems thinking, and enabling corps members to design scalable, community-driven solutions that address food security, nutrition, and climate challenges.
Being included in this global compilation is both an encouragement and a responsibility. It
reinforces the relevance of connecting national youth programmes to global food systems and climate policy processes, while highlighting the importance of moving beyond ideas toward structured implementation.
As Learn to Impact progresses from recognition to execution, collaboration will be critical. We welcome partnerships with government institutions, development partners, youth networks, academia, and the private sector to help translate this vision into sustained, on-the-ground impact.
Youth-led systems change is rarely linear, but with shared commitment and collaboration, it is achievable
